Q. What is your biggest Pet Peeve when it comes to books? Maybe you don't like love triangles or thin plots. Tell us about it!


A. This one was easy for me. I really hate insta-love and the over use of love triangles. It seems as if some use it as a crutch to add conflict to their stories.

Q. If you could change the ending to any book (or series), which would you choose? Why?
A. Spy Glass By Maria V. Snyder
I already ranted on this in my review of the book here. I'll just say I had a huge problem with who Opal ends up with after everything that happened in this series. Really the only thing I would change is the relationship ending the rest of the series was ended well.

A. As some may know we are buying a house and closing at the end of this month. For me I'm just ready for all of this to be over with so our family can get settled in and just enjoy it.

This weeks question: If you could write yourself a part in any book, what would it be and what role would you play?
A: It would either be The Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon or the Seven Realms series by Cinda Williams Chima. Character wise, I'm not sure, in some of these fantasy books I would not want to be in the middle of all the action I would want to be an observer (kinda like I am now) don't think I would enjoy it as much if I was part of it.

A: All the Outlander books (see above) are really long. I also remember the Brothers Karamazov being incredibly long (may have just seemed that way).

A. I would have to say Dime Store Magic by Kelley Armstrong. I'm trying to catch up on this series, way behind!

A. I take care of my 6 yr old and this is definitely a full time job. I'm also a game person, it's how I shut my brain down so I can relax enough to read with thinking about everything else but the book.

Q. How/Where do you get your books? Do you buy them or go to the library? Is there a certain website you use like paperbackswap?
A. I both buy and get books from the library. As my blog name suggests I buy both new and used. I don't get a lot online. We have a great used book store near me that I go to when I'm looking for older books in a series that I cannot find at Border's.

Q: Let's step away from besties... What is the worst book you have ever read and finished?
A. I'm sure there's some that are out there but if I'm not enjoying a book I usually stop and move on to something else. I will say I read Midnight Reign by Chris Green and it was OK but I could not finish the second one at all. I have also found that since I started blogging I try and find at least 1 redeeming thing about a book that wasn't a fave.

Q.Your favorite book/movie character just walked into the room! Who is it and what would be your first reaction?
A. I don't really have a who, at least I can't think of one (might be either Jamie or Valek). The reaction: I would probably just stand there and say nothing. Kid Rock walked into the store I was working at a few yrs back and it was more interesting to watch everyone else act crazy. Didn't have time to react myself :)

Q.What keeps you reading beyond the first page of a book, and what makes you stop and put it back on the shelf.

A. This is another with several answers. The first being mood, sometimes I just don't feel like reading a particular book doesn't mean there is anything wrong with it just don't want to read it right then. Usually it is the main character/s if I don't feel any sort of connection to them it can cause me to set the book down.

Q In light of the Summer Solstice also known as Midsummer... Lets talk about Fairies. What is your favorite fairy tale or story that revolves around the fae?
A. Old classic fairy tale that I loved growing up was Sleeping Beauty. More current is a little harder, I like a lot but not one specific. Dark Swan series, Meredith Gentry, Iron Fae, could probably keep going but will stop now.

Q When did you realize reading was your passion and a truly important part of your life?
A. Not exact but at a very young age. I had the all the disney story books and can remember reading them all the time. My mom was a big fan of the library so we were there often also.

Q. Genre Wars! What's your favorite genre and what book in that genre made it your favorite?
A. Even though I have been reading a lot of others my fave is still paranoramal romance.  As for a book, there wasn't just one book, it was the Three Sisters Island (Nora Roberts) and Dark Hunters (Sherilynn Kenyon) series that brought me to this genre.

A. I'm bad at circle time..
1. I almost never get the same thing at a restaurant,  even if I think I like this I'll have to get it again, I almost never do.
2. I separate my skittles, m&m's, etc by color before I eat them.
3. I have a different book for different rooms in the house and then another for when going out of the house (practice or dr's)

Q.Circle Time! Time to share. What character in a book would you most like to be, what character would you like to date?


This is one that changes with each book. As most people do I tend to put myself in whatever book I'm reading at the moment. Right now I'm in Eve and Roarke land. I will say I see myself more as Peabody than Eve but prefer Roarke over McNabb.

If you find a book you love, do you hunt down books by the same author? This is a resounding Yes. If I find an author I really like I will (sometimes) read everything by that author before moving on to something/someone else.

What is your current playlist right now?  I haven't been listening to much as of late. Whatever plays on my ipod when I'm walking with my aunt. anywhere from country to hip hop to pop, it just depends on what comes on. My little one is really into The Who and The Band so I hear them a lot as well.
