This Week's Reads

Stratoforge
by  Sky-Burial (DeviantArt)

Den of Wolves by Juliet Marillier
Blackthorn & Grim #3 (Goodreads)
**The final book of this trilogy. I'm looking forward to see how the author wraps up both Blackthorn and Grim's stories. I'm hoping that it is not the obvious conclusion to Blackthorn's need for revenge story.

No Good Deed by Kara Connolly
(Goodreads)
**I usually enjoy a good fairy tale retelling. Unfortunately,  the ones I've read lately have not been the best. Not enough reimagining, more just rehashing of the original. This is a retelling of Robin Hood. Here's hoping it's at least entertaining.

Daughter of The Burning City by Amanda Foody
(Goodreads)
**A weird murder mystery that takes place in a magical freak show. Cannot wait to read more about a magical illusion (created by someone with no eyes) being murdered. Also, from flipping through, I like the simpleness of the illustrations that are scattered throughout the book.

This Week's Reads

Dome City
by Joe Roberts (DeviantArt)

Grave Visions by Kalayna Price
Alex Craft (Goodreads)
**Already finished this one but was glad to get back into this series. Alex is one of my favorite UF characters. Between her death magic and being one of the first plane weavers in years her plate is full but not always in a good way. I'm not crazy about the romance. I don't generally like love triangles and in this one I don't care for either guy so it's even worse.

The Photo Ark by Joel Sartore
(Goodreads)
**I've been reading a lot of non fiction this summer and could not resist grabbing this one. I love photography and animals and this is the best of both.

Tower of Thorns by Juliet Marillier
Blackthorn & Grim #2 (Goodreads)
**Really liked book 1. Neither Blackthorn nor Grim are your typical heroes but you can't help but root for them to figure it out. Hopefully Blackthorn gets more control of her need for payback, it was the only thing that I disliked (but understood) in the first book.

This Week's Reads

Waterfall
by TsaoShin (DeviantArt)

Kushiel's Avatar by Jacqueline Carey
Phedre's Trilogy #3 (Goodreads)
**Finally getting back to this series. This is the final book in the first trilogy. Phedre along with Joscelin are looking to rescue Hyacinthe.

Dreamer's Pool by Juliet Marillier
Blackthorn & Grim #1 (Goodreads)
**Been reading a lot of fantasy lately and this is another set to add to the list. Something about the covers made me want more. Blackthorn is duty bound to help anyone who asks for it and with the help of Grim the adventures begin.
