Q.What were some of your favorite picture books as a kid? If you have kids, what are your favorites to read to them?

A.
Hubby got me this book for Mother's day when I was pregnant with our son.

One of my son's favorites... we had to buy 3 copies over time since he read it so much

and of course there is the whole collection of Dr Suess books, but this was the one that got memorized.

Q. How do you handle a book you don’t like? Do you DNF or do you power through?

A. I t really depends on my mood. Sometimes I will leave a book sitting for weeks or longer and then come back to it. It also depends on if I'm familiar with the author or not.

Happy Friday and Have a Great Weekend!!

Q.What do you do with your books after you’re done reading them?

A.If it's a library book it goes into the library bag to be returned and if it is mine it goes either onto a shelf or pile on floor. We haven't finished our book room in our new house, it's the only room that still has boxes in it.

Q. Today’s is the US’ Independence Day. Share your favorite book with a war in it, or an overthrow of the government.
A. I decided to stay away from dystopia and go with one of my favorite fantasy reads. I just finished Cursor's Fury (book 3 in Codex Alera) by Jim Butcher. I loved not only the big battle scenes but also the smaller more intricate mind games that were going on throughout the whole book.

I'm also trying out Bloglovin, if you are on there let me know so I can follow you.

Q: If you could hang out with any author (living) who would it be and what would you want to do?

A. It depends on many things... I think for fantasy I would say J.K. Rowling or Diana Gabaldon and for UF/PNR it would be Sherrilyn Kenyon or Yasmine Galenorn. They all just seem really interesting and would love to get details about all my favorite characters.

Have a Great Weekend and Happy Reading.

Q:  We are about to see a lot of posts & tweets about reader conventions, RT, BEA, ALA and many more are starting soon. Which one would you love to attend? Where and why?

A. The one I want to go to is not a reader convention but it would be Comic Con in San Diego. I would probably be completely overwhelmed but... Of the ones listed I would go with RT.

Have a Great Weekend everyone and Happy Reading!

A. Honestly, while it sounds cool, I would freak out. being surrounded by supernatural creatures while I'm just me just sounds like a bad combination

Q: Who is your favorite villain from a book?

A. My first thought was Lord Voldemort but I figured that  might be said a lot. So I am going with Dolores Umbridge, who I thought was worse than Voldermort

Q.  IF YOU COULD CHOOSE ONE SUPERNATURAL BEING/CREATURE TO REALLY EXISTS WHAT WOULD IT BE AND WHY? EX. FAE { SUBMITTED BY @SEEINGNIGHT }

A. This is a difficult one if you stop and go beyond your immediate first thought. I'm going to go with shifters, every kind imaginable, just to give variety and ensure there would be some good ones in there somewhere.

If you're new to the blog let me know so I can follow back.

Q. WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED FROM BOOK BLOGGING THAT YOU DIDN’T KNOW BEFORE ABOUT THE PUBLISHING INDUSTRY?

A. Just about everything. I did not know much about the industry beyond what I liked to read. Now I think I know too much sometimes.

Q.  Activity! Who do you want to be? If you could choose any character from a book. What do you think that character looks like and what do you have in common?

A. It would be either Hermione (Harry Potter) or Annabeth (Percy Jackson). I oculd probably come up with several more but if you're going to be someone else why not go all out fantasy. Wizards. Gods, Half-Bloods what more could you want.

Q. Books are turned into movies all the time! Turn it around. What movie would make a great book?

A. Most movies I like are already books. I'm going animated ( it's all we've seen in theaters since my son was born). This may already be a book but I love the look/premise of Rise of the Guardians. Putting all the childhood favorites in one place.

Q.  What writing device or trick most irritates you when reading a book? For example, if an author employs an omnipotent narrator that is sometimes considered bad form.

A. I have a few but the main one is: The Love Triangle. You can have drama in a relationship without adding a third person. It's usually contrived and you can always tell who the winning person is going to be, so waiting for the author to actually put it on the page is tiresome.

Q. When you step out of your USUAL genre what do you like to read? Best books in that genre?

A. When not reading paranormal I will read contemporary romance or mystery (I'm not a big contemporary fan). Best books: for romance I really like Nora Roberts. Mysteries: I like Sue Grafton and Patricia Cornwell

Q. What book do you think would make a great Halloween movie? Please explain in graphic detail of goriness…

A. I'm going with two and one already is a movie. My most recent read that would fit this is

One of y favorite books in high school was Needful Things by Stephen King. Some scenes in the book and movie gave me nightmares.

Q. What do you hope to accomplish with your blog? Is it to one day become an author yourself, just for fun, maybe get some online attention, or maybe something very different?

A. Uhm, none of the above. I've said before that I started this to vent about a character. I still do this with my reviews. They are more stream of thoughts on the book rather than a true review. That's still my basic reasoning, a place to vent while also promoting books I like. (OK this may fall under the "for fun" option)

Q.What is the BIGGEST word you’ve seen used in a book lately – that made you stop and look it up? Might as well leave the definition & book too.

A. I don't really have a big word but.. I am reading Lover Reborn by J R Ward. If you've read any of these you know there are lots of slang and other words that can throw you.

**Look at my Halloween design that I won from Parajunkee, isn't it cute!!?

A. I'm going to say the first three Mortal Instruments books. The rest are/were OK but I really enjoyed original trilogy.

Q. What book(s) are you reading right now? What do you think of it?

A. Reading: Bitterblue by Kristin Cashore, It's starting kind of slow but I'm hoping it picks up soon. I've seen many mixed reviews for this.
Lion's Heat by Lora Leigh. Almost finished with this one. I like Jonas much more than I like Rachel, have to wait to see what the final twists are.

What are you reading? Happy Reading and Hopping. Have a Great Weekend.
