Follow Friday

Follow Friday is now hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of course and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it'll allow us to show off more new blogs!

Q: Jumping Genres: Ever pick up a book from a genre you usually don’t like and LOVE it? Tell us about it and why you picked it up in the first place.

A. I now read just about anything as long as I enjoy it so I don't have a specific for this ? but... Some years ago I was only really reading mysteries/crime novel type books. I was reading J.D. Robb's In Death books (I did not consider them sci-fi/futuristic) and saw Nora Roberts name. I decided to find out more and picked up Dance Upon the Air (more specific than I thought when I started)and I've been hooked on PNR/ Urban Fantasy etc since.

    Yes, I have as a matter of fact.

    Typically, I do not read Sci-Fi. However, I picked up "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" (finally) and while I am not yet finished, I am enjoying it considerably.

    Hopping through. I didn't realize until recently that JD Robb was Nora Roberts. My parents love both Nora and "JD's" books.

    Nora was my first PNR too but it was her Circle Trilogy that got me hooked.

    I used to read only crime novels when I was younger, that all changed when YA became more popular and now since owning a blog I feel I can read pretty much anything.

    I don't read a ton of mysteries, but I've read a few lately that were really fun. And I've never read Nora Roberts, and totally should.
